Swaras (literal English translation: "The seven notes of the scale (swaras)") is a semi classical pop/rock band from Toronto, Canada, formed in June 2009 by Asad R. Qizilbash who is also the lead vocalist and composer of the band's music. Influenced by Nustrat Fateh Ali Khan, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Junoon, JOSH, Kishore Kumar, Lenny Kravitz, Matt Dusk and John Mayer's music.
Swaras consists of only two band members Asad Q. and Hassan R. Bokhari who is the lead guitarist and composer of the band as well.
